SafeGuard24 Standard

System functions

  • SAFEGUARD24 Standard is equipped with an additional, electrically operated mechanical lock (steel inner bolt) that enables only an authorized person to remotely unlock a cargo space from any location within the range of the GSM network. There are two ways of unlocking the bolt: texting the unlocking code to the subsystem that controls the bolt, or transmitting the unlocking code to the driver so that he can enter it on the keyboard installed on the semitrailer. The system offers the possibility to define the cargo destination, thus preventing local unlocking (by entering the code on the keyboard) anywhere else but the specified destination.
  • SAFEGUARD24 Standard reports on demand on the current status of the door and bolt, as well as on the geographical position, altitude above sea level, transport speed, course relative to the North Pole, voltage in the semitrailer’s electric circuit.
  • SAFEGUARD24 Standard sends a notification in the event of an unauthorized unlocking of the cargo space, specifying:
    • the date and time of the unauthorized unlocking,
    • ? the location where the unauthorized unlocking took place (or the last tracked location if there is no GPS signal)..
  • SAFEGUARD24 Standard automatically and continuously (24/7/365) transmits alerts concerning operation and usage (e.g. power problems), as well as alarms, to a phone number specified by the Client. An additional option is to define a code sequence the pressing of which transmits an alarm signal like in the case of the ‘Panic button’ (silent alarm).
  • SAFEGUARD24 Standard automatically reports on power cuts and sabotage attempts.
  • SAFEGUARD24 Standard is enhanced with an auto-diagnostic function, which enables the manufacturer’s support service to handle a fault before it hinders system use.
  • SAFEGUARD24 Standard can be expanded with:
    • a module for measuring temperature inside a semitrailer,
    • a module for controlling overstress/acceleration. This function proves particularly useful for settling disputes over cargo damage and for evaluating driving styles of particular drivers,
    • a module of an acoustic-optical alarm, set off automatically in the event of unauthorized unlocking.

Operation diagram

In order to prevent unauthorized unlocking, a cargo space is equipped with a steel inner bolt, the monitoring and bolt control systems. The system becomes armed after the arming code is entered on the external keyboard.

The process consists of latching the bolt, sending an arming text message and activating the procedures for securing the cargo space. Once the process of latching the bolt is completed, the arming text message is sent to an authorized person. The arming text message report contains data on the location, date and time of arming, as well as a one-time unlocking code.

When the destination is reached, the authorized person can remotely disarm the system by sending an appropriate text message or transmitting the one-time unlocking code to another authorized person (e.g. the driver) who may enter it on the keyboard. Disarming the system comprises unlatching the bolt and the deactivation of the procedures for securing the cargo space. In the event of any attempt to violate security or any other crucial emergency situation, the system automatically sends a notification with detailed information on the alarm type and the exact position of the cargo space.
